12 research projects of Bulgarian state universities and research organizations will receive financial support from the Ministry of Education and Science under the National Program "European Scientific Networks".
This became clear after the first meeting of the Commission responsible for the program, chaired by Deputy Minister Karina Angelieva.
After reviewing all proposals, the projects of 12 beneficiaries, state universities and research organizations - Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", Technical University - Sofia, University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy, Medical University - Plovdiv, Medical University - Varna, Thracian University - Stara Zagora, University of Food Technology, University of Library Science and Information Technology, Institute of Electrochemistry and Energy Systems "Acad. Evgeni Budevski" at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics and the Institute of Defense.
In the course of implementation, they will follow instructions specifically laid down by the Commission.
The National Program "European Scientific Networks" will provide funds in the amount of up to BGN 2,497,000 for 2020. They are provided for the implementation of projects that have been highly appreciated by the European Commission, but there are no funds left for their financing.
The main focus of the program is the modernization of curricula, training models, career development of scientists and work on joint research programs.
